When Wax is applied on Apples or any fruit then the fruit does not over-ripe, sequeeze, shrink, and there is no question of moisture loss of the same.

Wax coating studies are being carried out to make the produce more attractive with better shelf life. Carnauba based surface wax increased shelf life of Apples 5-6 months by delaying senescence. Edible film coatings with gelatin (4%), corn starch (3%), HPMC (3%) and stearic acid (1.5 to3%) composition enhanced storage life of all apples variety, "T?29" upto 145 days with minimum (10?15%) post?harvest water loss.Ã¢â‚¬Â

The Shelf life of the fruit will be more than or equal to 6:months

HOW TO APPLY:-
1. By Spraying on Trees Directly before plucking.
2. By Dipping into the water mixed with coating after plucking.
3. By Wiping each Apple with spray brush after plucking.

Before applying Sta-Fresh 821 coating we bring the temperature of each Apple at 5 degree.
In case of spray on trees directly it is sprayed in early in the morning between 5 to 7 AM.
After applying Coating we let the fruit dry naturally and then pack accordingly.
This application of coating will end immediately the respiration process of Apples and there will be no effective contact of the Apple with the Air. By this there will not be any moisture loss, shrinking or over-ripening of Apples for 5-6 months.
